HIV‐1 establishes immediate latency in T cells expressing the viral Nef protein

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Nef is a viral protein often omitted from HIV‐1 reporter viruses. Consequently, its role in viral latency is unclear. We developed three novel dual reporter HIV‐1 derivatives that express Nef and allow for detection of latent and productive infection. Using these reporters, we show that Nef does not affect the establishment of immediate viral latency ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Fragmented ureteral stent extraction by antegrade and retrograde access:using ureteroscope and nephroscope

open access: yesUrology Case Reports, 2019
there are different complications of using ureteral stents in urology field, one of the challenging complications is stent fragmentation which is frequent in patients with missed and forgotten stents accompanying encrustation, presented case was 70- year-

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Revealing of the Activation Pathway and Cathode Electrolyte Interphase Evolution of Li-Rich 0.5Li2MnO3·0.5LiNi0.3Co0.3Mn0.4O2 Cathode by in Situ Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The first-cycle behavior of layered Li-rich oxides, including Li2MnO3 activation and cathode electrolyte interphase (CEI) formation, significantly influences their electrochemical performance. However, the Li2MnO3 activation pathway and the CEI formation

DETERMINATION OF OPTIMAL TERMS FOR EXECUTION OF RADICAL BARIATRIC INVASIONS AFTER INTRAGASTRIC BALLOONING OF STOMACH THROUGH RESEARCH OF CHANGES IN THICKNESS OF GASTRIC WALL AMONG PATIENTS WITH MORBID OBESITY

open access: yesUkrainian Scientific Medical Youth Journal, 2016
38 patients with morbid obesity were treated who were subject to intragastric ballooning of stomach before execution of radical bariatric invasions (gastric-by-pass).

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Working in the recicled inner city: insertions and extractions

open access: yes, 2017
The idea of recicled inner city is conceived from its own account as a living heritage in constant transformation that does not depend on a deliberate formal strategy but on the intertwining time, materials and activities. In the last fifteen years we have studied its many forms and scales through our own work of constructing sites and projects.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Application of Seabed Remediation Technology to Pile Placement on the Jack-Up in Chengdao Oilfield

open access: yesHaiyang Kaifa yu guanli
In order to reduce the risk of the moving platform being in place in the area of repeated pile insertion and extraction in Chengdao Oilfield, the uneven seabed formed by repeated pile insertion and extraction is repaired through seabed topography and ...
