Scandium – Leaching and Extraction Chemistry
2021Scandium (Sc) is one of the key elements in the green economy due to its use in fuel cells and as alloying metal for aluminium, but the scandium market is not working in the sense that very little is offered at a high price making it impossible to gain use of the metal.

Chemistry and microbiology in sugar extraction
Sugar Industry, 2021The stability of the sucrose molecule and the firmness of the tissue structure in the cossettes are of major concern when optimizing the operating conditions for the extraction system. For a given extraction system the retention time is more or less fixed, but the actual pH values and temperatures to be set across the system largely determine the ...

Supramolecular Chemistry in Solvent Extraction
2013Solvent extraction provides the basis for important separation and concentration processes that are widely used in hydrometallurgy, waste treatment, e ffluent purification, and material preparation 1– 3 . In a typical extraction process, the complexing agent, the extractant, plays a key role and is responsible for the phase transfer of one or more ...

Progress in actinide extraction chemistry
Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Articles, 1990During the last decade new extractants for actinides have been actively developed mainly to improve radiochemical processes and for analytical chemistry. At the same time our knowledge about extraction equilibrium chemistry, composition and structure of complexes became more profound.

Anthocyanins—Occurrence, extraction and chemistry
Food Chemistry, 1980Abstract This paper deals with those aspects of anthocyanins particularly related to beverages. The anthocyanins are briefly discussed and those present in some fruits are listed. pH is shown to affect the colour of anthocyanins, but various means of stabilisation are given.
