Extraction chemistry of fermentation product carboxylic acids.

Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1986
AbstractWithin the framework of a program aiming to improve the existing extractive recovery technology of fermentation products, the state of the art is critically reviewed. The acids under consideration are propionic, lactic, pyruvic, succinic, fumaric, maleic, malic, itaconic, tartaric, citric, and isocitric, all obtained by the aerobic fermentation

Solvent Extraction Chemistry and Kinetics of Zirconium

Separation Science and Technology, 1980
Abstract The solvent extraction behavior of zirconium in the HN03-tributyl phosphate (TBP) system can be explained based on the existence of four principal aqueous species, Zr4+, ZrOH3+, Zr3(OH)8+ 4, and oxo-polymers. The Zr4+ and ZrOH3+ species are extractable and are in equilibrium with inextractable Zr3(OH)8+ 4.

Novel extraction chemistry and alternative amplification strategies for use with rootless hair shafts

Journal of Forensic Sciences, 2021
Rootless hair shafts are often considered unsuitable for STR genotyping due to the known high failure rate. The same samples can be reliably processed with mitochondrial sequencing.

Chemistry and microbiology in sugar extraction

Sugar Industry, 2021
The stability of the sucrose molecule and the firmness of the tissue structure in the cossettes are of major concern when optimizing the operating conditions for the extraction system. For a given extraction system the retention time is more or less fixed, but the actual pH values and temperatures to be set across the system largely determine the ...
