Ion-Pair Extraction with Tetracyanocyclopentadienides: A Method for Estimating Extraction Efficiency

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin
Ion-pair extraction with tetracyanocyclopentadienides (TCCPs) is an effective method for isolating ammonium cations; however, predicting the extractability of ammonium-TCCP ion pairs is challenging. Herein, the measured extraction coefficients (LogKex) of ammonium-TCCP ion pairs allowed the values of A (an index for anion extractability) for the TCCP ...

Effect of Static extraction time on Extraction Efficiencies using On-line Supercritical Fluid Extraction-High Performance Liquid Chromatography for Lipoquinone Analysis in Activated Sludge

open access: yes, 2015
Analysis of microbial community is important for monitoring the performance of biological processes. One of the most simple, quantitative and high reproducible method for analysis of the microbial community is lipoquinone profile method.

Supercritical fluid extraction of nylon 6 : an investigation into the factors affecting the efficiency of extraction of caprolactam and its oligomers

open access: yes, 1993
Caprolactam and oligomers can be efficiently extracted from nylon 6 by use of supercritical fluid extraction with carbon dioxide containing 7.5 % (m/m) methanol as the extraction fluid.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Extraction equipment and sampling technique used in semi-continuous silver-uranium extraction studies

open access: yes, 1959
Liquid-liquid aqueous extraction methods for reprocessing metallic fuels have two main disadvantages. First, the process involves many steps such as dissolution in acid; extraction, conversion to a salt, and reduction to the metallic state.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Reactivity of a plagioclase concentrate from the South African Bushveld Igneous Complex via extractive acid leaching vs. extractive roasting-leaching processes

open access: yesDiscover Materials
This study compared the reactivity of a plagioclase concentrate subjected to two processes: (1) direct acid leaching and (2) thermochemical treatment with ammonium sulfate followed by leaching.
