Extraction of Image Features on Tooth Flank Pitting and Gluing

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Tooth flank pitting and gluing are principal forms of gear defect. The purpose of this research is to extract the image feature of the gear in the different defects by means of image processing technology. Firstly, the image was carried out denoising processing by median filtering and segmentation processing by use of OSTU method.

Extracting Valuable Data from Classroom Trading Pits

The Journal of Economic Education, 2005
How well does competitive theory explain the outcome in experimental markets. The authors examined the results of a large number of classroom trading experiments that used a pit-trading design found in Experiments with Economic Principles, an introductory economics textbook by Bergstrom and Miller.

Optimization of oil extraction from waste “Date pits” for biodiesel production

Energy Conversion and Management, 2016
Abstract Biodiesel produced from non-edible feedstocks is increasingly attractive alternative to both fossil diesels and renewable fuels derived from food crops. Date pits are one such lipid containing feedstock, and are widely available in Oman as a waste stream.

Chemopreventive Effect of Date Pit Extract

2018
Clinical studies have claimed in general to show a correlation between high consumption of phenolic antioxidants and reduced risks of certain types of cancer. The main antioxidant activity that has been associated with polyphenols is the ability to scavenge free radicals.

Health benefits of first and second extraction drum‐dried pitted olive pomace

Journal of Food Science, 2021
Abstract Olive pomace (OP) is the main by‐product of olive oil extraction. After pit and skin removal, OP pulp has high concentrations of dietary fiber and phenolics with high antioxidant capacity. This study evaluated mice health benefits of drum‐dried pitted OP pulp obtained after first and second oil ...

Mega-Genome DNA Extraction from Pit Mud

2015
Molecular analyses for the study of microbial community often depend on the direct extraction of the mega-genome DNA from pit mud. The present work compared six different methods to extract the mega-genome DNA from pit mud, and investigated the relationship between the quantity and the diversity of the mega-genome DNA.

Remediation of flare pit soils using supercritical fluid extraction

Journal of Environmental Engineering and Science, 2005
Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) is a promising remediation technology for contaminated soils. This work investigates the use of SFE to remove petroleum hydrocarbons (PHCs) from flare pit soils. Extractions were performed on two flare pit soils at pressures ranging from 11.0 to 24.1 MPa and at temperatures ranging from 40 to 80 °C in an attempt to

Bispectrum analysis for feature extraction of pitting fault in wind turbine gearbox

2010 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation, 2010
This paper discusses the theory of higher-order statistical analysis and its application in gear pitting fault feature extraction from gearbox vibration signals analysis of a large scale wind turbine generator system (WTGS). The bispectrum was used to inhibit the Gaussian noise in measured vibration signals and to reveal the fault related non-Gaussian ...
