Systematic design of an extractive distillation for maximum‐boiling azeotropes with heavy entrainers [PDF]
Extractive distillation is one of the most attractive approaches for separating azeotropic mixtures. Few contributions have been reported to design an extractive distillation for separating maximum-boiling azeotropes and no systematic approaches for ...

Knowledge Distillation on Extractive Summarization
2020 IEEE Third International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge Engineering (AIKE), 2020Large-scale pre-trained frameworks have shown state-of-the-art performance in several natural language processing tasks. However, the costly training and inference time are great challenges when deploying such models to real-world applications. In this work, we conduct an empirical study of knowledge distillation on an extractive text summarization ...

The reduction of extractive agent in extractive distillation and auto-extractive distillation
Chemical Engineering and Processing: Process Intensification, 2002Abstract Methanol–acetone, methanol–methyl acetate and methanol–chloroform were used as binary systems in extractive distillation and water–methanol–acetone, water–methanol–methyl acetate and water–methanol–chloroform were used as ternary systems in auto-extractive distillation, to study the possibility of reducing the specific consumption of ...

Extractive and Auto‐Extractive Distillation of Azeotropic Mixtures
Chemical Engineering & Technology, 2021AbstractExtractive distillation is one of the energy‐efficient methods for separating azeotropic mixtures. The question of the influence of the mixture original composition on the operating parameters of the columns of extractive and auto‐extractive distillation remains open.

EXTRACTIVE DISTILLATION PERFORMANCE
Chemical Engineering Communications, 1994The effectiveness of Koch-Sulzer BX structured packing and random protruded packing are compared for an extractive distillation operation which exhibits high liquid to vapor ratios. The extractive distillation operation studied separated an 88/12 wt% toluene/heptane mixture with N-methyl pyrrolidone (NMP) as the solvent in a 0.15 m diameter column with

In this paper, we present a new transformation algorithm called distillation which can automatically transform higher-order functional programs into equivalent tail-recursive programs. Using this algorithm, it is possible to produce superlinear improvement in the runtime of programs.

Control of an Extractive Distillation Plant
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1986A new separation scheme for extractive distillation which uses a vapor sidestream is presented together with an appropriate control system. Starting with a simplified model of the dynamic behaviour, the influence of the level control loops is investigated and a multivariable control system is developed using state space methods.

Extractive Distillation by Salt Effect
Chemical Engineering Communications, 1974Abstract Extractive distillation employing a dissolved salt instead of a liquid third component as the separating agent is a promising but relatively neglected technique for achieving azeotropic and other difficult separations. In systems for which a soluble and effective salt can be found, major savings in both capital and energy costs are possible ...
