Batch extractive distillation with light entrainer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Use of a light entrainer in batch extractive distillation is justified when the mixture boils at a high temperature, or when an appropriate heavy or intermediate entrainer cannot be found. Feasibility of batch extractive distillation with light entrainer

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Extractive Distillation Process Combined with Decanter for Separating Ternary Azeotropic Mixture of Toluene-Methanol- Water

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2017
The mixture of toluene-methanol-water is difficult to separate because of the formation of toluene-methanol and toluene-water azeotropes. Extractive distillation process with two-column decanter (EDTCD) was improved to separate the system.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Design of an Energy Saving ACN-based Butadiene Production Process by Using Dividing Wall Columns

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2018
Butadiene (normally refers to 1,3-butadiene), separated from C4 mixture, is a major petrochemical product and an important feedstock for downstream polymerization processes. Because each component of the C4 mixture has very similar relative volatilities,

Flowsheets for hydroxyacetone–phenol binary mixture separation: The use of special distillation methods

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2023
Objectives. To study the possibility of hydroxyacetone–phenol binary mixture (a constituent of a mixture of phenol production by the cumene method) separation in flowsheets based on the use of distillation special methods.

Evaluating the involvement of autolysosomes in the nuclear translocation of fluorescent proteins

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Endogenously expressed fluorescent proteins can be degraded by autophagy and transported to cell nuclei via the nuclear pore complex. But in some cell lines, for example, HeLa cells which are positive for immunoreactivity of a receptor ligand, such as UCN I, in cell nuclei, fusion of autolysosome with the nuclear envelope is involved in the nuclear ...

Dose‐dependent hepatotoxicity of hydrogen peroxide in HepG2 cells and its modulation by CYP450 induction

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...

Breaking Azeotropes by Azeotropic and Extractive Distillation in a Dividing-Wall Column

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2013
This study gives a brief overview about using dividing-wall column (DWC) technology in azeotropic and extractive distillation processes aimed to break azeotropes. The relevant case study considered here is the bioethanol dehydration process that requires

Mathematical Modeling Of Multi Component Batch Extractive Distillation [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2007
A dynamic model has been developed to study the dynamic behavior of multicomponent batch extractive distillation column. The set of equationsgoverning (material bvalance, heat balance, summation of mole andequilibrium equations) which represent the ...
