Rethinking the pathogenesis of endometriosis: Complex interactions of genomic, epigenetic, and environmental factors

open access: yesJournal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research, Volume 50, Issue 10, Page 1771-1784, October 2024.
Abstract Aim Endometriosis is a complex, multifactorial disease. Recent advances in molecular biology underscore that somatic mutations within the epithelial component of the normal endometrium, alongside aberrant epigenetic alterations within endometrial stromal cells, may serve as stimulators for the proliferation of endometriotic tissue within the ...

Outcomes after fertility‐sparing surgery of early‐stage ovarian cancer: A nationwide population‐based study

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 13, Issue 7, April 2024.
Fertility‐sparing surgery (FSS) can be a safe alternative procedure in selected young patients of early‐stage epithelial ovarian cancer who have fertility desire. Endometrial biopsy should be performed before or during FSS. Regular surveillance to detect recurrence is mandatory for ovarian cancer patients undergoing FSS.
