Mechanical metamaterials capable of compressive stiffness tunability, shape morphing, and post‐fabrication modularity. Herein, the 3D unit cell design is based on an assembly of bistable von Mises trusses that exhibit a switch in compressive stiffness and resting height from one stable state to the other.

Fundamental groups, slalom curves and extremal length [PDF]
We define the extremal length of elements of the fundamental group of the twice punctured complex plane and give upper and lower bounds for this invariant. The bounds differ by a multiplicative constant. The main motivation comes from $3$-braid invariants and their application.

Hybrid materials enable high‐performance components but are challenging to process. This study explores an inductive heating concept with spray cooling for steel–aluminum specimens in a two‐step process including friction welding and cup backward extrusion.

Ternary near-extremal self-dual codes of lengths $36$, $48$ and $60$ [PDF]
For lengths $36$, $48$ and $60$, we construct new ternary near-extremal self-dual codes with weight enumerators for which no ternary near-extremal self-dual codes were previously known to exist.

Using novel probe‐based metrics, this study evaluates lattice structures on criteria critical to cellular solid optimization. Triply‐periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices outperform other lattices, offering more predictable mechanical behavior in complex design spaces and, as a result, higher performance in optimized models.

A new class of regular black holes in Einstein Gauss-Bonnet gravity with localized sources of matter
We provide a new regular black hole solution (RBH) in Einstein Gauss-Bonnet (EGB) gravity with localized sources of matter in the energy–momentum tensor. We determine the necessary constraints in order for the solution to be regular.

Improved bounds on the extremal function of hypergraphs [PDF]
A fundamental problem in pattern avoidance is describing the asymptotic behavior of the extremal function and its generalizations. We prove an equivalence between the asymptotics of the graph extremal function for a class of bipartite graphs and the asymptotics of the matrix extremal function.
