Bit threads, Einstein’s equations and bulk locality

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
In the context of holography, entanglement entropy can be studied either by i) extremal surfaces or ii) bit threads, i.e., divergenceless vector fields with a norm bound set by the Planck length.

Compound Heterozygous MRPS14 Variants Associated With Leigh Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT MRPS14 (uS14m) is a nuclear‐encoded ribosomal protein important for mitochondria‐specific translation. To date, only a single individual with a recessive MRPS14‐related disorder (also known as COXPD38) has been reported. We report an additional subject possessing novel compound heterozygous MRPS14 variants (p.Asp37Asn, p.Asn60Asp). The subject

The General (α,3)-Path Connectivity Indices of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2018
The general (α,t)-path connectivity index of a molecular graph originates from many practical problems such as three-dimensional quantitative structure-activity (3D QSAR) and molecular chirality.

Toward Design Principles for Biomolecular Condensates for Metabolic Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates are membrane‐less compartments found through‐out nature which can serve as reaction crucibles for biochemical processes. This review explores the design strategies underlying how condensates can be used in biotechnology to enhance multistep enzyme cascades including enhancement by mass action and substrate channeling, and ...

The Final Stage of Gravitationally Collapsed Thick Matter Layers

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2013
In the presence of a minimal length, physical objects cannot collapse to an infinite density, singular, matter point. In this paper, we consider the possible final stage of the gravitational collapse of “thick” matter layers.

Elasticity of Diametrically Compressed Microfabricated Woodpile Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Modulus–porosity relationship is derived for woodpile lattices with struts under diametrical compression. The formula presented here that Young's modulus is proportional to the square of the volume fraction E˜ρ2$E \sim \left(\rho\right)^{2}$ is shown to be consistent with computations and laboratory experiments on 3D‐printed samples.

Volume of a rotating black hole in 2+1 dimensions

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2022
In this article we apply the technique for maximal volume estimation of a black hole developed by Christodoulou and Rovelli [1] for Schwarzschild black hole and by Zhang et al.

Bridging Nature and Technology: A Perspective on Role of Machine Learning in Bioinspired Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Machine learning (ML) is revolutionizing the development of bioinspired ceramics. This article investigates how ML can be used to design new ceramic materials with exceptional performance, inspired by the structures found in nature. The research highlights how ML can predict material properties, optimize designs, and create advanced models to unlock a ...

Some Extremal Self-Dual Codes and Unimodular Lattices in Dimension 40 [PDF]

open access: yesFinite Fields and Their Applications 21 (2013) 67-83, 2011
In this paper, binary extremal singly even self-dual codes of length 40 and extremal odd unimodular lattices in dimension 40 are studied. We give a classification of extremal singly even self-dual codes of length 40. We also give a classification of extremal odd unimodular lattices in dimension 40 with shadows having 80 vectors of norm 2 through their ...

Extremal rays of non-integral $L$-length [PDF]

open access: yesOsaka Journal of Mathematics, 2011
Let $X$ be a smooth complex projective variety and let $L$ be a line bundle on it. We describe the structure of the pre-polarized manifold $(X,L)$ for non integral values of the invariant $ _L(R):=-K_X\cdot /(L \cdot )$, where $ $ is a minimal curve of an extremal ray $R:=\mathbb R_+[ ]$ on $X$ such that $L \cdot R>0$.
