Extreme hypersensitiveness to heat
Journal of Allergy, 1933Abstract A case of extreme hypersensitiveness to heat is described. The outstanding features were: (1) Exposure of the chest to heat from an ordinary forty-watt desk lamp at a distance of one and one-half feet for thirty seconds invariably produced an attack of asthma. (2) An ice bag invariably relieved attacks in three or four minutes or less.

Climate Change and Extreme Heat Events
American Journal of Preventive Medicine, 2008The association between climate change and the frequency and intensity of extreme heat events is now well established. General circulation models of climate change predict that heatwaves will become more frequent and intense, especially in the higher latitudes, affecting large metropolitan areas that are not well adapted to them.
