Attribution of extreme precipitation in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River during May 2016 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
May 2016 was the third wettest May on record since 1961 over central eastern China based on station observations, with total monthly rainfall 40% more than the climatological mean for 1961–2013.

Extreme Rainfall Events in Lund 1979–1980

open access: yesHydrology Research, 1981
All raingauge measurements give only one-point values. Since the practical applications of rain data always deal with areal measures, the knowledge of areal distribution of rain is very important for correct evaluation of the rain volumes. Two types of rainfall input data are generally used: design rainfall hyetographs and long historical rainfall ...

Future projections of extreme rainfall events in Indonesia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, 2023
AbstractPrevious evaluations of coupled climate models have indicated that under the influence of global warming precipitation extremes, including those over Indonesia, are expected to intensify. Here, we examine the most recent future projections of extreme rainfall in Indonesia using 24 global climate models from the Coupled Model Intercomparison ...

Where Most Frameworks Degrade: Flexible Bimetallic Phosphonate Crystals as pH‐Universal Supercapacitor Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Plastically flexible single crystals of the bimetallic phosphonate framework [Cu(2,2′‐bpy)VO(O3PC6H5)2] combine mechanical adaptability with robust pseudocapacitive charge storage. The material delivers about 140 Fg−1 at pH 4 and pH 10 and remains stable across pH 2‐12, enabling energy storage under comparatively mild electrolyte conditions.

Coupled model intercomparison project phase 6 (CMIP6) high resolution model intercomparison project (HighResMIP) bias in extreme rainfall drives underestimation of amazonian precipitation

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Communications
Extreme rainfall events drive the amount and spatial distribution of rainfall in the Amazon and are a key driver of forest dynamics across the basin.

Wavelet analysis of rainfall data of the aguapeí -peixe hydrographic basins (state of São Paulo)

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Technology, 2019
With the use of the Wavelet analysis, this study aimed to detect the dominant oscillations and phenomena that influence the occurrence of extreme rainfall events in the basins of the Aguapeí River and the Peixe River in order to generate information ...

Data-Driven Prediction of Thresholded Time Series of Rainfall and SOC models

open access: yes, 2014
We study the occurrence of events, subject to threshold, in a representative SOC sandpile model and in high-resolution rainfall data. The predictability in both systems is analyzed by means of a decision variable sensitive to event clustering, and the ...
