Workflow for Design of Experiments‐Based Modeling of Species Transport and Growth Kinetics in GaN Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

COMPARISON OF BLOCK MAXIMA AND PEAK OVER THRESHOLD METHODS FOR EXTREME RAINFALL MODELING OF DKI JAKARTA

open access: yesJurnal Lebesgue
Extreme rain has a form of tail that the right side of the distribution is longer; it is not suitable for model using normal distribution approach. One of the statistical methods developed related to the analysis of extreme events in which the shape of ...

Ultimate 100m World Records Through Extreme-Value Theory [PDF]

open access: yes
We use extreme-value theory to estimate the ultimate world records for the 100m running, for both men and women. For this aim we collected the fastest personal best times set between January 1991 and June 2008.

Dual‐Mode Film Based on Highly Scattering Nanofibers and Upcycled Chips‐Bags for Year‐Round Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent radiative cooling devices, adaptable to various weather conditions, have the potential for year‐round energy savings. This study introduces a sustainable dual‐mode film made from polycaprolactone nanofibers and upcycled chip bags for effective thermal management.

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Projecting Future Ozone Episodes in China by 2060 Under Diverse Emission and Climate Pathways: Insights From Extreme Value Theory

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Ozone concentrations in China have been rising since 2013 despite emission reductions, yet future episode frequencies remain poorly investigated. In this study, we employ extreme value theory (EVT) to project ozone episode frequency in China by 2060 ...

Extreme value theory, Poisson-Dirichlet distributions and FPP on random networks

open access: yes, 2009
We study first passage percolation on the configuration model (CM) having power-law degrees with exponent $\tau\in [1,2)$. To this end we equip the edges with exponential weights. We derive the distributional limit of the minimal weight of a path between
