Updated ERNICA guidelines for the management of rectosigmoid Hirschsprung's disease 2025

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives To revise the 2018 European Reference Network for rare Inherited and Congenital Digestive and Gastrointestinal Anomalies (ERNICA) clinical guideline for the management of rectosigmoid Hirschsprung's disease (HSCR) based on new evidence and evolving clinical priorities, ensuring continued relevance, trustworthiness, and consistency ...

The thermal statistics of quasi-probabilities' analogs in phase space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We focus attention upon the thermal statistics of the classical analogs of quasi-probabilities's (QP) in phase space for the important case of quadratic Hamiltonians. We consider the three more important OPs: 1) Wigner's, $P$-, and Husimi's. We show that,

Estimating One-Minute Rain Rate Distributions in the Tropics From TRMM Satellite Data (October 2017)

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2018
Internationally recognized prognostic models of rain fade on terrestrial and Earth-space extremely high frequency (EHF) links rely fundamentally on distributions of 1-min rain rates. In Rec.

Sideband cooling while preserving coherences in the nuclear spin state in group-II-like atoms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We propose a method for laser cooling group-II-like atoms without changing the quantum state of their nuclear spins, thus preserving coherences that are usually destroyed by optical pumping. As group-II-like atoms have a $^1S_0$ closed-shell ground state,

Estimating Rain‐Specific Attenuation at Extremely High Frequencies From Disdrometer Measurements at Various Climate Zones in the US

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The raindrop size distribution (DSD) plays an essential role in understanding rain attenuation effects at extremely high frequencies (EHFs). Over 1 year of DSD measurements was taken at different Köppen–Geiger climate classifications within the United States. Optical disdrometers from Thies Clima were used to measure both the size and velocity

Hyperfine Spectroscopy of Optically Trapped Atoms

open access: yes, 2004
We perform spectroscopy on the hyperfine splitting of $^{85}$Rb atoms trapped in far-off-resonance optical traps. The existence of a spatially dependent shift in the energy levels is shown to induce an inherent dephasing effect, which causes a broadening

New probe of magnetic fields in the prereionization epoch. I. Formalism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We propose a method of measuring extremely weak magnetic fields in the intergalactic medium prior to and during the epoch of cosmic reionization. The method utilizes the Larmor precession of spin-polarized neutral hydrogen in the triplet state of the ...

Thermoresponsive Complex Coacervates as Advanced Carriers for Cell‐Laden Liquid‐Core Capsules for Biomedical Applications

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A thermoresponsive complex coacervate is engineered to transport liquid‐core capsules loaded with human adipose‐derived stem cells, forming modular, hierarchically organized tissue‐forming units. This injectable platform enables precise spatial control while maintaining high cell viability, offering a versatile and bioinspired strategy for minimally ...

Increasing the Reuse Potential of High‐Strength Steels by Extending the Fatigue Life through Surface Treatments

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Surface reconditioning through mechanical and electrochemical polishing is shown to extend the fatigue life of predamaged 42CrMo4 steel by over 12 times. By removing ≈100 μm of surface material, surface‐driven fatigue damage is mitigated. This study introduces a reuse potential metric to evaluate fatigue recovery and support sustainable steel reuse.
