Exploring exudate viscosity: A rheological analysis of wound exudates
AbstractExudate and its viscosity are critical in wound healing. Changes in viscosity can interfere with dressings properties as well as affect the diffusion of immune cells, nutrients, oxygen and bacteria. Current international standards for laboratory testing of wound dressings use a single low‐viscosity solution, named as ‘Test Solution A’, which ...

Bilateral SERS‐Microneedle Patch for Co‐Diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus and Tuberculosis Comorbidity
Our study introduced a U@mP@Au‐mediated bilateral SERS‐microneedle patch for analyzing glucose levels from ISF and sensitively detecting TB biomarkers from sputum, respectively. This integrated dual‐analyte detecting platform can be used for co‐diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (DM) and tuberculosis (TB) comorbidity, which was demonstrated in ex vivo ...

Multi‐Axis Stretchable Zippers for Personalized Wound Healing
Multi‐axis stretchable zippers can adapt to complex wound morphologies and enable personalized wound treatment through programmable contraction. This morphological matching strategy helps accelerate wound closure, improve blood perfusion, promote epithelial regeneration, and enhance collagen remodeling, pioneering new directions for personalized and ...

Background: Pleural tissue can be harvested either by means of closed biopsies, thoracoscopy or open surgical biopsies. Access to thoracoscopy and open surgical biopsies is limited in many parts of the world and closed biopsies are therefore the preferred initial investigation (Diacon et al., 2003) [6]. Aim of the study: This study aimed to compare the

A sprayable near‐infrared‐activated nanoplatform incorporating MXene, ZnHCF nanozyme, and deferoxamine efficiently breaks the vicious cycle of diabetic wounds. Upon irradiation, interfacial electron transfer and photothermal effects enhance multi‐enzyme activity, enabling explosive ROS elimination, alleviation of hypoxia, and controlled DFO release ...

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Treatment‐resistant wounds caused by polymicrobial biofilms are refractory to conventional therapies due to the dense extracellular matrices. We developed μBLAST, a microblasting wound dressing that combines MnO2‐doped biosilica and a H2O2‐releasing mesh to generate localized oxygen microbubbles that mechanically disrupt biofilms.

Correcting the apparent priming effect resolves systematic biases in Asian rice fertilizer nitrogen accounting. Net soil retention drops below 7%, while 48% of fertilizer escapes, inflicting US$98.53 billion in annual reactive‐nitrogen damages. High‐resolution mapping uncovers N‐risk archetypes across 42% of the rice area, delivering a spatially ...

This systematic review and meta‐analysis of 38 studies, encompassing over 5000 patients, compared extralevator abdominoperineal excision (ELAPE) with standard abdominoperineal excision (APE) in patients with advanced low rectal cancer. ELAPE was associated with significantly improved overall and disease‐free survival, reduced intraoperative perforation
