High-resolution eye tracking using scanning laser ophthalmoscopy

open access: yes, 2019
Current eye-tracking techniques rely primarily on video-based tracking of components of the anterior surfaces of the eye. However, these trackers have several limitations.

The Identification of Individualized Eye Tracking Metrics in VR Using Data Driven Iterative- Adaptive Algorithm

open access: yesOnline Academic Journal of Information Technology, 2023
Eye tracking metrics provide information about cognitive function and basic oculomotor characteristics. There have been many studies analyzing eye tracking signals using different algorithms.

Eye Tracking: A Perceptual Interface for Content Based Image Retrieval [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this thesis visual search experiments are devised to explore the feasibility of an eye gaze driven search mechanism. The thesis first explores gaze behaviour on images possessing different levels of saliency.

L‐aspartate oxidase provides new insights into fumarate reduction in anaerobic darkness in Synechocystis sp. PCC6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Synechocystis strains deficient in succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) secrete more succinate than the WT under dark anaerobic conditions, supporting that SDH then primarily acts as SDH, not as a fumarate reductase. L‐aspartate oxidase (Laspo) from Synechocystis is functional under anaerobic conditions, reducing fumarate to succinate.

Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.

Get a grip Slippage-robust and glint-free gaze estimation for real-time pervasive head-mounted eye tracking

open access: yes, 2019
A key assumption conventionally made by flexible head-mounted eye-tracking systems is often invalid: The eye center does not remain stationary w.r.t. the eye camera due to slippage. For instance, eye-tracker slippage might happen due to head acceleration

Subclinical Optic Nerve Involvement in Radiologically Isolated Syndrome: Multimodal Detection and Diagnostic Impact

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We aimed to determine the frequency of subclinical optic nerve (ON) lesions using MRI, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and visual evoked potentials (VEP) in radiologically isolated syndrome (RIS), and to assess their diagnostic and prognostic significance.

Altered pupil light and darkness reflex and eye-blink responses in late-life depression

open access: yesBMC Geriatrics
Background Late-life depression (LLD) is a prevalent neuropsychiatric disorder in the older population. While LLD exhibits high mortality rates, depressive symptoms in older adults are often masked by physical health conditions.

Validation of a Fast and Accurate Magnetic Tracker Operating in the Environmental Field

open access: yesInstruments, 2021
We characterize the performance of a system based on a magnetoresistor array. This instrument is developed to map the magnetic field, and to track a dipolar magnetic source in the presence of a static homogeneous field.

Digital Cognitive Phenotyping for Differential Diagnosis and Monitoring in Neurological Conditions

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To assess the utility, accessibility, and equivalence to supervised scales of online cognitive assessment in older individuals with cognitive impairment. Methods Patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD, n = 31), idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH, n = 26), and traumatic brain injury (TBI, n = 23) completed online cognitive ...
