Eye-gaze word processing

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1990
Erica is a personal computer operated by eye-gaze. By looking at menu options displayed at different locations on the computer monitor, a disabled user can invoke commands without the need for standard input devices. The design of test entry software for Erica's gaze word processor is described.

Eye gaze correction for videoconferencing

Proceedings of the symposium on Eye tracking research & applications - ETRA '02, 2002
This paper describes a 2D videoconferencing system with eye gaze correction. Tracking the eyes and warping the eyes appropriately each frame appears to create natural eye contact between users. The geometry of the eyes as well as the displacement of the camera with the remote user's image determines the warp.

Eye-To-Eye: Towards Visualizing Eye Gaze Data

2020 24th International Conference Information Visualisation (IV), 2020
The work in this paper introduces a platform that is able to visualize eye gaze data. The platform introduces two different directions or algorithms. The first is for videos with heat-map to convert the heat map data into raw numbers. The algorithm takes the video containing the heat map and cuts it into frames.

Eye Gaze Tracking

2009 IEEE-RIVF International Conference on Computing and Communication Technologies, 2009
The problem of eye gaze tracking has been researched and developed for a long time. Most of them use intrusive techniques to estimate the gaze of a person. This paper presents a non-intrusive approach for eye gaze tracker in real time with a simple camera.

A gaze bias in the mind’s eye

Nature Human Behaviour, 2019
Can the eye movements we make when there is nothing to look at shed light on our cognitive processes? A new study shows that tiny gaze shifts reveal people’s attended locations in memorized—rather than visual—space. The discovery indicates that the oculomotor system is engaged in the focusing of attention within the internal space of memory.

Gaze driven animation of eyes

Proceedings of the 14th ACM SIGGRAPH / Eurographics Symposium on Computer Animation, 2015
We present a data driven model of eye movement, that includes movement of the globes, the periorbital soft tissues and eyelids and also the formation of wrinkles in the tissues. We describe a pipeline for measurement and estimation of tissue movement around the eyes using monocular high speed video capture.

Study on eye gaze estimation

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 2002
There are two components to the human visual line-of-sight: pose of human head and the orientation of the eye within their sockets. We have investigated these two aspects but will concentrate on eye gaze estimation. We present a novel approach called the "one-circle" algorithm for measuring the eye gaze using a monocular image that zooms in on only one

Estimating the eye gaze from one eye

Computer Vision and Image Understanding, 2005
Eye gaze estimation via images has been well investigated and all methods worked on images with the full face. This makes the eye details small and accuracy is affected. We address this problem by zooming in on a single eye. In this paper, we will show the validity of the method and investigate the performance with controlled synthetic data and also ...

Eye gaze and the GSR

Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, 1971
An experimental situation was designed to investigate the differential effects of eye contact and unreciprocated gaze upon GSR activity. Twenty male and twenty female subjects gazed continuously at the eyes of a confederate, who either returned the gaze or looked at a spot on a wall 30° to the right of the subject's head, according to a prearranged ...

Facial and Eye Gaze Detection

2002
Gaze detection is to locate the position on a monitor screen where a user is looking. In our work, we implement it with a computer vision system setting a IR-LED based single camera. To detect the gaze position, we locate facial features, which is effectively performed with IR-LED based camera and SVM (Support Vector Machine).
