Detection of bacterial infection of the eye chalazion in Mosul City
Science Archives, 2022Chalazion is a common infection of the meibomian gland in all ages’ eyelids. The current study sought to isolate and identify bacteria linked with chalazion in patients hospitalized to Mosul hospitals between 10/1/2021 and 1/3/2022. Samples were obtained using swabs soaked in the transport media (amies), and bacteria were identified using traditional ...

SubTenon Injection of Gentamicin for Bacterial Infections of the Eye
Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1971Bacterial infection of the eye presents unique problems. Protease-producing bacteria such as Pseudomonas may cause perforation of the globe in less than a day. With intraocular infections, it is very difficult to obtain adequately high levels of antibiotics so that minimal inhibitory concentrations are reached within the ocular tissues.

Chemotherapy of Bacterial Infections of the Eye
1992The founder of modern diagnostic bacteriology, Robert Koch, laid the grounds for the substantial advances in the knowledge of infectious diseases of the eye that were made by Theodor Axenfeld around the turn of the century. The far-reaching insights into the etiology and pathogenesis of infectious diseases of the eye reported by T Axenfeld in his ...

The Treatment of Bacterial Infections of the Eye
1976The healthy eye is remarkably well protected from the common bacterial pathogens which are found around the lids and the conjunctival sac. The majority of serious intraoccular bacterial infections result either from a failure of these protective mechanisms or as a result of direct inoculation of microorganisms into the eye.
