The case is an example of traumatic globe rupture. Most cases occur after penetrating trauma though blunt trauma may also be implicated. Rupture should be suspected in the setting of vision loss, any globe deformity, and eye pain. A search for any concomitant facial or intracranial injuries should be pursued.
