All-Optical Diffractive Operators for Rapid, Computer-Free Morphological Transformations. [PDF]
This paper shows an all‐optical, computer‐free approach to realize morphological transformations on visual data. Free‐space optical devices consisting of successive diffractive layers are trained through a deep learning‐based optimization process to perform erosion and dilation for images with diverse styles.
