Congenital synchronous adenomas of meibomian and moll glands of the eyelid in a calf

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2005
This report describes meibomian adenoma (MA) and moll gland adenoma in a female, 1.5-months-old, crossbreed calf. Macroscopically, the mass was 3 × 1.5 × 0.5 cm in size and 5.35 g in weight; its shape was gray-reddish and it was localized on the right ...

Effective Penetration of the Oxidized Keratin‐Rebonding Materials Into Hair Shafts Based on Charge Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We have developed a smart hair‐repair ingredient based on β‐carboxylic acid amide that undergoes negative‐to‐positive charge conversion under mildly acidic conditions. The initial negative charge facilitates deep penetration into the hair fiber, while the subsequent positive charge enables re‐bonding with sulfonate groups in damaged hair keratin.

The Role of Intraoperative Frozen Section in Determining the Margin of Excision in Case of Eyelid Nodular Hidradenoma

open access: yesFrontiers on Healthcare Research
Background: Nodular hidradenoma is a rare benign skin adnexal tumor originating from sweat glands. It can recurrence and possibly future malignant transformation. An intraoperative frozen section guides the operation and provides margin control.

The Floor‐Ceiling‐Chip, or 2 × 2D = Pseudo‐3D—Approaching 3D Cell Morphology and Organization between Two Opposing 2D Substrates with Cell‐Adhesive Protein Micropatterns

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Here, we present a novel 3D cell patterning and culture platform. The “Floor‐Ceiling‐Chip” (FC‐Chip) consists of two opposing track‐etched membranes, creating a pseudo‐3D microenvironment for the cells in between. By providing the membranes with micropatterned cell‐adhesive islands of varying geometries and sizes, the FC‐Chip enables control over cell ...

Biomimetic Copper‐Doped Nano‐Aluminum Adjuvant Potentiates Therapy in Chemoresistant Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a novel copper‐doped aluminum nano‐adjuvant (CuNA) to overcome cytarabine resistance in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). CuNA effectively sensitizes drug‐resistant AML cells to cytarabine by inducing mitochondrial dysfunction and inhibiting HMGCR/GPX4 to amplify ferroptosis.

Skin‐Interfaced Therapeutic Patches for Wound Fluid Management and Transdermal Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents an integrated skin‐interfaced device combining microfluidics, hydrogel film technology, flexible electronics, and iontophoresis‐based transdermal delivery of PDRN to enhance wound healing. The device effectively manages wound fluid, maintains optimal moisture, and non‐invasively delivers therapeutic drugs.

Expression levels of some genes in the MAPK pathway (DUSP1, DUSP2, DUSP4, DUSP6 and DUSP10) in eyelid tumor tissue

open access: yesTürk Biyokimya Dergisi
To control mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK) signaling pathways involved in the onset and progression of cancer, dual specificity phosphatases (DUSPs/MKP) are essential.
