Shifting the Substrate Scope of an Ene/Yne‐Reductase by Loop Engineering

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
A flexible active‐site loop that is involved in shaping the substrate and product cleft as well as the active‐site pocket was identified for the MDR‐related ene/yne‐reductase CaeEnR1 from Cyclocybe aegerita. Double mutations of this loop showed an up to 20‐fold increase in conversion rates toward cinnamaldehyde‐like substrates and a 2‐fold increase in ...

Graphitic Carbon Nitride/Nickel Oxide/Pt Heterojunction Photocatalysts for Hydrogen Production from Ammonia Borane Under White‐Light Irradiation

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
gCN/NiO Nanocomposites were fabricated and their roles as being both an effective heterojunction and support materials for the in‐situ synthesis of Pt nanoparticles during the hydrolysis of ammonia‐borane were investigated. The optimal gCN/NiO‐3.12%/Pt(IV) heterojunctions (1.31 wt% Pt) provided the highest TOF of 132.9 mol H2mol Pt−1 min−1 in the ...

Measurement of Dissolved Gas Content in a Hydrocarbon‐Based Liquid Using Gas Chromatography

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A method for the determination of dissolved gas content in liquids is presented. The effects of ageing, temperature, and heating time on gas solubility in a hydrocarbon‐based liquid were investigated. In particular, longer heating times with much stirring were found to increase the amount of dissolved gas.

Novel 4,5‐Dihydrothiazole‐Phenylpiperazine Derivatives: Synthesis, Docking Studies and Pharmacological Evaluation as Serotonergic Agents

open access: yesChemMedChem, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a new series of 4,5‐dihydrothiazol‐2‐ylphenylpiperazine derivatives as serotoninergic ligands is described and tested for their affinity toward 5‐HT1A, 5‐HT2A,and 5‐HT2C and selected for further in vivo assays to determine their functional activity. The pharmacological studies highlight that among the developed derivatives, FG‐7 and FG‐

Synthesis and Biological Characterization of 4,4‐Difluoro‐3‐(phenoxymethyl)piperidine Scaffold as Dopamine 4 Receptor (D4R) Antagonist in vitro Tool compounds

open access: yesChemMedChem, EarlyView.
The work presents details of the efforts to design and characterize novel D4 inhibitors. A new 4,4‐difluoropiperidine ether series that confers improved potency and selectivity for D4 versus the other dopamine receptor subtypes is identified. Extensive structure‐activity relationship around this privileged group identifies the key structural changes to
