Excision of Neoplasms of the Bovine Lower Eyelid by HâBlepharoplasty
Veterinary Surgery, 1991Neoplasms of the lower eyelid in 14 cattle were treated by wide surgical excision and Hâblepharoplasty. Healing was by first intention, and cosmetic results were satisfactory in all cases. Lid function was satisfactory in 12 cattle, and there was no evidence of recurrence after at least 6 months in 12 cattle.

Histopathologic examination of the excised tissue showed a mucin-filled cystic tumor emanating from an apocrine bilayer that displayed bleb-like apocrine decapitation secretion.

Eyelid and Conjunctival Neoplasms
2011The spectrum of neoplasms that can affect the eyelids and conjunctiva is vast. In this chapter, we review the epidemiology, clinical features, pathology, and management of these lesions. Basal cell carcinoma is the most common eyelid malignancy. Excision is the mainstay of treatment for this tumor that rarely metastasizes.
