Ambipolar Behavior of a Cu(II)–Porphyrin Derivative in Ternary Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesSolar RRL, Volume 7, Issue 5, March 2023., 2023
A new Cu(II)porphyrin‐based acceptor (A)–π–donor–π–A, denoted as VC11, proves to be an excellent third component in ternary organic solar cells with PBDB‐T and Y6 affording a power conversion efficiency as high as 15.25% owing to the additional charge separation offered by a cascaded energy‐level alignment and a fast charge transfer, due the ...

Noncovalent Conformational Locks Enabling Efficient Nonfullerene Acceptors

open access: yesSolar RRL, Volume 6, Issue 2, February 2022., 2022
The planarity of two new small‐molecule acceptors, based on diketopyrrolopyrrole, is achieved by noncovalent intramolecular interactions. These molecules show broad absorption in the visible and near‐infrared region. Binary solar cells built together with a polymer display power conversion efficiency as high as 14.12%.

Dibenzoquinone Cyclopentadithiophene Diradicaloids Show Optical Transitions of Different Spin States and Anomalous Near‐Infrared Emission

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 2, January 10, 2025.
A series of bis(semiquinone) linearly π‐conjugated compounds with dithiophene bridges of different lengths were prepared that ranged from closed‐shell (the smallest) to full diradical (the longest) accompanied with narrow singlet‐triplet energy gaps (magnetic response).

Fractional‐Order PI Control of First Order Plants with Guaranteed Time Specifications

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
Cardiospheres (CSs) are self‐assembling multicellular clusters from the cellular outgrowth from cardiac explants cultured in nonadhesive substrates. They contain a core of primitive, proliferating cells, and an outer layer of mesenchymal/stromal cells and differentiating cells that express cardiomyocyte proteins and connexin 43.

The Ant Genus Dorymyrmex Mayr (Hymenoptera: Formicidae: Dolichoderinae) in Colombia

open access: yesPsyche: A Journal of Entomology, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
The aim of this paper is to actualize the taxonomy of Dorymyrmex, by addressing problems at both the genus and the species levels. We also explore the taxonomy and distribution of Dorymyrmex in Colombia. We list, diagnose, and key nine species in the country, including three new species: Dorymyrmex amazonicus n. sp.

Scottish Trade With Spain in the 1770s: The Progress of Carron Company and the Growth of Spanish Naval Power

open access: yesJournal for Eighteenth-Century Studies, Volume 47, Issue 4, Page 383-404, December 2024.
Abstract The establishment of a Royal Naval Dockyard in Ferrol (Spain) favoured engagement in international activities and hence the development of useful connections with other European cities and towns. This article examines trade links between Scotland and Spain through the port of Ferrol during the 1770s, with particular emphasis on the British ...

All‐Small‐Molecule Ternary Organic Solar Cell with 16.35% Efficiency Enabled by Chlorinated Terminal Units

open access: yesSolar RRL, Volume 8, Issue 17, September 2024.
The ternary strategy in all‐small‐molecule organic solar cells (ASM‐OSCs) leads to significant advances. Herein, three new electron donor small molecules are presented for ASM‐OSCs; the best efficiency (14.39%) is found for the device constructed with the chloro‐substituted donor FG5.

Effect of Meso‐ or β‐Functionalization of Porphyrins on the Photovoltaic Properties of Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesSolar RRL, Volume 8, Issue 10, May 2024.
Two D–π–A–π–D materials, RC19 and RC20, with benzothiadiazole as the acceptor core and meso‐ or β‐functionalized Ni‐porphyrins, are synthesized and studied in organic solar cell devices. RC19:TOCR1 exhibits a remarkable 13.72% power conversion efficiency, the highest reported for porphyrin‐based binary organic solar cells. This achievement results from
