Ecology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.In this study we use ONT Flongle Flowcells to produced DNA barcodes for 146 seagrass associated marine invertebrate OTUs collected from four seagrass beds in Scotland, targeting COI and 18S V4 regions. We generate the first DNA barcode reference library for seagrass beds in Scotland to support future biomonitoring of these priority habitats.

Trending extinctions: online interest in recently extinct animals
Animal Conservation, Volume 28, Issue 3, Page 445-464, June 2025.When species go extinct, online interest spikes but often fades quickly. We analysed how online attention shifts before and after extinction announcements of eight species and found that there are brief spikes of interest on Twitter, while Wikipedia shows more prolonged engagement.
