Size–Pore-Dependent Methanol Sequestration from Water–Methanol Mixtures by an Embedded Graphene Slit

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
The separation of liquid mixture components is relevant to many applications—ranging from water purification to biofuel production—and is a growing concern related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as “Clean water and Sanitation” and ...

Informational Entropy Threshold as a Physical Mechanism for Explaining Tree-like Decision Making in Humans

open access: yesEntropy, 2022
While approaches based on physical grounds (such as the drift-diffusion model—DDM) have been exhaustively used in psychology and neuroscience to describe perceptual decision making in humans, similar approaches to complex situations, such as sequential ...

Dilemma breaking in quantum games by joint probabilities approach

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Classical games get fundamentally modified in the quantum realm because of non-locality and entanglement, that bypass some of the crucial features of the classical problem that define a dilemma.

Random Walks on Comb-like Structures under Stochastic Resetting

open access: yesEntropy, 2023
We study the long-time dynamics of the mean squared displacement of a random walker moving on a comb structure under the effect of stochastic resetting.

Dynamics and statefinder analysis of a class of sign-changeable interacting dark energy scenarios

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2022
We revise the dynamical properties of a class of cosmological models where the dark sector interacts through an interacting term that changes sign during evolution.

Underreporting of Top Incomes and Inequality: A Comparison of Correction Methods using Simulations and Linked Survey and Tax Data

open access: yesReview of Income and Wealth, Volume 69, Issue 4, Page 1033-1059, December 2023., 2023
Household surveys do not capture incomes at the top of the distribution well. This yields biased inequality measures. We compare the performance of the reweighting and replacing methods to address top incomes underreporting in surveys using information from tax records.

Environmental influence on reproductive traits of buffel grass facultative apomictic genotypes and its implication in plant breeding

open access: yesCrop Science, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 3382-3392, November/December 2023., 2023
Abstract Cenchrus ciliaris L., a perennial C4 grass, is one of the most widely used forage species in warm and dry regions worldwide. The widespread use of the cultivar Texas raises concerns about genetic homogeneity and vulnerability. Hybridizations among facultative individuals could widen the genic pool. Therefore, a reproductive characterization of

Spatio‐temporal downscaling emulator for regional climate models

open access: yesEnvironmetrics, Volume 34, Issue 7, November 2023., 2023
Abstract Regional climate models (RCM) describe the mesoscale global atmospheric and oceanic dynamics and serve as dynamical downscaling models. In other words, RCMs use atmospheric and oceanic climate output from general circulation models (GCM) to develop a higher resolution climate output.

Thunderstorm and hailstorm environments in Mexico

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 43, Issue 10, Page 4379-4395, August 2023., 2023
Thunderstorm and hailstorm environments were analysed in Mexico (1981–2018) using proximity soundings based on the European Centre for Medium‐Range Weather Forecasts Reanalysis v5 (ERA5) dataset. Diverse instability, kinematic, and composite parameters were computed and compared seasonally and regionally, which allowed identifying how local conditions ...
