Basic Protocol for On-Site Testing Consolidant Nanoparticles on Stone Cultural Heritage

open access: yesHeritage, 2019
Currently the application of consolidants based on nanoparticles is common practice among restorers. Consolidants should not modify the properties of original materials according to international recommendation, which requires previous studies to decide ...

Online Risk Behaviours Among Adolescents: Identifying Areas of Digital Vulnerability

open access: yesChildren &Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As a period during which they undergo important physical, emotional and social changes, adolescence is of great importance for minors. In addition, adolescence is an initial stage in terms of children's use of their own mobile devices and their first access to the internet and social networks, an activity that becomes a generalised habit in ...

The Nucleation and Degradation of Pothole Wetlands by Human-Driven Activities and Climate During the Quaternary in a Semi-Arid Region (Southern Iberian Peninsula)

open access: yesGeographies
In this study, we selected a series of pothole wetlands to investigate their nucleation, evolution, and recent anthropogenic degradation in the Alcores Depression (AD), southern Iberian Peninsula, where over 100 closed watersheds containing shallow ...

Ordering in one-dimensional few-fermion clusters with repulsive interactions

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
By using a diffusion Monte Carlo (DMC) technique, we studied the behaviour of a mixture of spin-up and spin-down cold fermionic atoms confined in one-dimensional harmonic potentials.

The Hidden Face of Cultural Heritage: a science window for the dissemination of elementary knowledge of risk and vulnerability in cultural heritage

open access: yesHeritage Science, 2018
The dissemination of research in cultural heritage preservation to the public is a task that needs new models and expressions, to capture the attention of the public and the assessment of results. With this purpose, a new educational experience in Parque

Metal and insulator states of SU(6) × SU(2) clusters of fermions in one-dimensional optical lattices

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
We studied the behavior of mixtures of ^173 Yb (with symmetry up to SU(6)) and ^171 Yb (up to SU(2)) fermionic isotopes loaded in one-dimensional (1D) optical lattices.

A link between increased temperature and avian body condition in a logged tropical forest

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract The combined effects of anthropogenic disturbances, such as logging and climate change, remain poorly understood; yet, they are the main threats to tropical biodiversity. Most tropical African countries lack long‐term climate data, so climate impacts on biodiversity cannot be assessed.

Plasmon‐Enhanced CO2 Methanation over Au@Ru/TiO2 via Nanoscale Control of Ru Shell Thickness

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 52, December 22, 2025.
Au@Ru core–shell nanoparticles on TiO2 integrate active Ru sites with Au plasmonic excitation. At 190 °C, 545 nm light boosts CO2 methanation rates by 335% while preserving >99% CH4 selectivity. The catalyst outperforms Ru/C and remains stable for 85 h, underscoring nanoscale shell engineering for efficient light‐assisted thermocatalysis.
