New Information Inequalities in Terms of Variational Distance and its Application

open access: yesJournal of New Results in Science, 2016
In this work, new information inequalities are obtained and characterized on new generalized f- divergence (introduced by Jain and Saraswat (2012)) in terms of the Variational distance and these inequalities have been taken for evaluating some new ...

A Unifying Generator Loss Function for Generative Adversarial Networks

open access: yesEntropy
A unifying α-parametrized generator loss function is introduced for a dual-objective generative adversarial network (GAN) that uses a canonical (or classical) discriminator loss function such as the one in the original GAN (VanillaGAN) system.

Utility duality under additional information: conditional measures versus filtration enlargements [PDF]

open access: yes
The utility maximisation problem is considered for investors with anticipative additional information. We distinguish between models with conditional measures and models with enlarged filtrations.

Stochastic Neighbor Embedding under f-divergences

open access: yes, 2018
The t-distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding (t-SNE) is a powerful and popular method for visualizing high-dimensional data. It minimizes the Kullback-Leibler (KL) divergence between the original and embedded data distributions. In this work, we propose extending this method to other f-divergences.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

New information inequalities on new generalized f-divergence and applications

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 2015
In this work, we introduce new information inequalities on new generalized f-divergence in terms of well known Chi-square divergence. Further we obtain relations of other standard divergence as an application of new inequalities by using Logarithmic ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Regularization via f‐Divergence: An Application to Multi‐Oxide Spectroscopic Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation
In this paper, we explore the application of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for predicting the chemical composition of complex geologic samples in a simulated Martian atmospheric environment.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
