Stringy geometry from F‐theory

Fortschritte der Physik, 2016
We review the construction of six‐dimensional non‐geometric string compactifications obtained from torus fibrations with T‐duality monodromy. We take a geometric point of view where T‐duality twists are identified with Dehn twists of an auxiliary surface fibered over a two dimensional base. Degenerations of this auxiliary surface define codimension‐two

F-theory and experiment

Contemporary Physics, 2010
There is currently a wide gulf between string theory and experiment. This is compounded by the existence of a ‘landscape’ of solutions to the string theory equations of motion, many of which are in gross violation of experimental constraints. To make contact with experiment, it is then necessary to impose some additional criteria to find potentially ...

F-theory on tetrahedron

2012
Complex tetrahedral surface T is a non planar projective surface that is generated by four intersecting complex projective planes CP2. In this paper, we study the family {Tm} of blow ups of T and exhibit the link of these Tms with the set of del Pezzo surfaces dPn obtained by blowing up n isolated points in the CP2.
