De Novo Design of Membrane‐Targeting Antimicrobial Peptides Against Gram‐Negative Bacteria Using a Generative Artificial Intelligence Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial resistance caused by Gram‐negative bacteria remains difficult to overcome due to the protective outer membrane. To address this challenge, a multi‐condition constrained generative AI framework, GenMTAMP is proposed for de novo membrane‐targeting antimicrobial peptide design by integrating physicochemical and spatial structure descriptors.

Impact of Evaluation Protocols on F1-Score and AVPR in Anomaly Detection Benchmarks

open access: yes
Anomaly detection is a widely explored domain in machine learning. Many models are proposed in the literature, and compared through different metrics measured on various datasets. The most popular metrics used to compare performances are F1-score, AUC and AVPR. In this paper, we show that F1-score and AVPR are highly sensitive to the contamination rate.

ProSiteHunter: A Unified Framework for Sequence‐Based Prediction of Protein‐Nucleic Acid and Protein‐Protein Binding Sites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study proposed a unified sequence‐based framework for protein binding site prediction, which adopted a tri‐track semantic multi‐source feature fusion strategy to effectively capture diverse macromolecular interaction sites and further improved the accuracy of antibody‐antigen interaction prediction.

Llama3 and Codestral F1-Score Degradation Under Synthetic Code Obfuscation

open access: yes
This report synthesises findings from 1 peer-reviewed paper addressing the following research question: How does the F1-score of Llama3 and Codestral degrade when classifying vulnerabilities in Big-Vul samples subjected to varying levels of synthetic obfuscation compared to clean code.

Intrinsically Mitochondria‐Targeting Nanozyme via Coordination‐Assembly of Natural Quercetin for Cascade Antioxidant Therapy of Cerebral Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers that quercetin naturally targets mitochondria. By coordinating quercetin with Fe3+, we engineer an ultrasmall cascade nanozyme (MCN) with superoxide dismutase‐catalase activities. MCN crosses the damaged blood–brain barrier, scavenges mitochondrial ROS, prevents mitochondrial DNA leakage, and blocks the cGAS‐STING pathway, thereby ...

Pharmacological Inhibition of FKBP51 Mitigates Early Life Adversity‐Induced Social Deficits in Male Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Early life adversity triggers persistent social subordination and brain‐wide molecular dysregulation. Pharmacological inhibition of the stress‐mediator FKBP51 during the adversity period prevents these long‐term deficits and restores normative social hierarchy.
