Infrared Spectral Energy Distributions of z~0.7 Star-Forming Galaxies

open access: yes, 2007
We analyze the infrared (IR) spectral energy distributions (SEDs) for 10micron < lambda(rest) < 100micron for ~600 galaxies at z~0.7 in the extended Chandra Deep Field South by stacking their Spitzer 24, 70 and 160micron images.

Changing the world language requirement: A case study of challenges and impacts

open access: yesForeign Language Annals, Volume 58, Issue 4, Page 869-888, Winter 2025.
Abstract As is well‐recognized, World Language General Education programs across US higher education face challenges that have led many institutions to question whether these programs can persist in their current state. In this study, we present the outcomes of a new model for World Languages General Education introduced at a large US public university

Monitoring of Salmonella spp. in Native Fish Farms in the Pantanal and Cerrado Biomes, Brazil: Serotype Diversity, Antimicrobial Resistance Profiles, and Multivatiate Patterns

open access: yesJournal of Food Safety, Volume 45, Issue 6, December 2025.
This study investigated Salmonella spp. occurrence, serotypes, antimicrobial resistance, and associated environmental and management factors in 25 native fish farms located in the Pantanal and Cerrado biomes, Brazil. A total of 184 fish and environmental samples were analyzed using standardized methods and multivariate statistics. Salmonella spp.

Can Multiphase Inclusions in Garnet From Eclogite Facies Rocks Be a Product of Melt or Supercritical Fluid Entrapment During Subduction?

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, Volume 43, Issue 9, Page 891-908, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Dehydration of rocks and minerals during high‐pressure metamorphism is controlled by the thermal structure of the subduction zone and can be traced by the stability fields of hydrous phases. Consistent with the results of experimental works, the content of silicate components in fluids is assumed to increase from the fields of subcritical to ...

Could Organic Acids Be an Alternative to Sulfuric Acid for Improving the Fertilizer Value of Digestate Solid Fraction?

open access: yesCLEAN – Soil, Air, Water, Volume 53, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Phosphorus (P) recovery from biowaste is essential for improving nutrient recycling in agriculture. Acidification with sulfuric acid has proven effective in increasing the P availability of digestate solid fraction (DSF), but its use poses safety and regulatory concerns, especially in organic farming. This study evaluated the potential of five

IR observations of MS 1054-03: Star Formation and its Evolution in Rich Galaxy Clusters

open access: yes, 2007
We study the infrared (IR) properties of galaxies in the cluster MS 1054-03 at z=0.83 by combining MIPS 24 micron data with spectra of more than 400 galaxies and a very deep K-band selected catalog.

A Deep Backtracking Bare‐Bones Particle Swarm Optimisation Algorithm for High‐Dimensional Nonlinear Functions

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, Volume 10, Issue 5, Page 1501-1520, October 2025.
ABSTRACT The challenge of optimising multimodal functions within high‐dimensional domains constitutes a notable difficulty in evolutionary computation research. Addressing this issue, this study introduces the Deep Backtracking Bare‐Bones Particle Swarm Optimisation (DBPSO) algorithm, an innovative approach built upon the integration of the Deep Memory

The CABIM3, enriched space for the improvement of fruit flies used in the sterile insect technique, first approaches

open access: yesInsect Science, Volume 32, Issue 5, Page 1777-1786, October 2025.
Abstract The High Biosecurity House of the Mediterranean Fly in Metapa (CABIM3, in its Spanish acronym) is a space within the new Moscamed Mexico facility designed to select favorable traits that mitigate the negative effects of mass production while enhancing male competitiveness, ultimately increasing the efficiency of the sterile insect technique ...
