Does Lithium Lower the Risk of Glaucoma—A Danish Nationwide Study
ABSTRACT Background Glaucoma is an optic neuropathy caused by neurodegenerative loss of retinal ganglion cells (RGC). Mechanisms that contribute to RGC death include some of the same mechanisms involved in bipolar disorders (BD) and are the same mechanisms which are targeted by lithium (Li).

The tiny globulettes in the Carina Nebula [PDF]
Small molecular cloudlets are abundant in many H II regions surrounding newborn stellar clusters. In optical images these so-called globulettes appear as dark silhouettes against the bright nebular background.

Bipolar Disorder and Poisoning due to Medicines or Illegal Substances
ABSTRACT Background Individuals with bipolar disorder face an elevated risk of premature death, often due to external causes such as accidental injuries, self‐harm, and substance‐related deaths. This study aimed to investigate the incidence of severe poisonings among individuals with bipolar disorder and to examine associated demographic and clinical ...

Abstract Background and Purpose The increasing number of cancer survivors has caused growing concern over chemotherapy‐induced cardiotoxicity. This study aimed to investigate a novel human model of cardiotoxicity and explore cardioprotection. Experimental Approach Living myocardial slices (LMS) were obtained from explanted end‐stage heart failure ...

Tight Bounds on the Synthesis of 3-bit Reversible Circuits: NFT Library [PDF]
The reversible circuit synthesis problem can be reduced to permutation group. This allows Schreier-Sims Algorithm for the strong generating set-finding problem to be used to find tight bounds on the synthesis of 3-bit reversible circuits using the NFT ...

Rotating "Black Holes" with Holes in the Horizon
Kerr-Schild solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell field equations, containing semi-infinite axial singular lines, are investigated. It is shown that axial singularities break up the black hole, forming holes in the horizon.

Peak statistics on COBE maps [PDF]
We perform the stastistics of temperature maxima and minima in COBE-DMR 2-year maps. For power-law spectra the surface distribution of peaks implies an amplitude consistent with more conventional analyses of COBE data (for instance, we get $Q_{{\rm rms ...

On Kernel Formulas and Dispersionless Hirota Equations
We rederive dispersionless Hirota equations of the dispersionless Toda hierarchy from the method of kernel formula provided by Carroll and Kodama. We then apply the method to derive dispersionless Hirota equations of the extended dispersionless BKP(EdBKP)

ABSTRACT We introduce a novel framework that dynamically optimizes currency factor strategies via trading currency spot and forward. We examine the performance of 24,336 portfolio optimization approaches and find that the optimized currency factors significantly outperform the naïve factors after correcting for data snooping bias.
