Lossless Information‐Based Dimensionality Reduction of Comprehensive Features With a Deep Variational Autoencoder Enables Early‐Life Prediction of Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2026.
This paper presents a dimensionality reduction approach that minimizes feature redundancy while retaining essential information, simplifying subsequent model training. Starting with a complete feature set to capture aging characteristics, we reduced it to 10 key features, resulting in a maximum reconstruction mean squared error (MSE) of 0.02139.

Fermionic Vacuum Energy from a Nielsen-Olesen Vortex

open access: yes, 2003
We calculate the vacuum energy of a spinor field in the background of a Nielsen-Olesen vortex. We use the method of representing the vacuum energy in terms of the Jost function on the imaginary momentum axis. Renormalization is carried out using the heat
