Instanton Bags, High Density Holographic QCD and Chiral Symmetry Restoration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We describe the simplest example of an instanton bag in Euclidean space. It consists of a monopole wall and a Kaluza-Klein monopole wall, lifted to one higher dimension, trapping the instanton charge in the middle.

Wetland soil history shapes microbial community composition, while hydrologic disturbance alters greenhouse gas fluxes

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract While wetlands represent a small fraction (~5%–10%) of the world's land surface, it is estimated that one‐third of wetlands have been lost due to human activities. Wetland habitat loss decreases ecosystem benefits, including improved water quality and climate change mitigation.

More on Mixed Boundary Conditions and D-branes Bound States [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
In this article, applying different types of boundary conditions; Dirichlet, Neumann, or Mixed, on open strings we realize various new brane bound states in string theory. Calculating their interactions with other D-branes, we find their charge densities

Fine-mapping alleles for body weight in LG/J × SM/J F2 and F34 advanced intercross lines [PDF]

open access: yesMammalian Genome, 2011
The present study measured variation in body weight using a combined analysis in an F2 intercross and an F34 advanced intercross line (AIL). Both crosses were derived from inbred LG/J and SM/J mice, which were selected for large and small body size prior to inbreeding. Body weight was measured at 62 (±5) days of age.
