Gene typing of the colonisation factor K88 (F4) in enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli strains isolated from diarrhoeic piglets

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2001
More than 4 000 E. coli strains isolated from diarrhoeic piglets in 111 pig herds in the Czech Republic during the period 1995-2000 were examined for serogroup and virulence factors.

F4, a collagen XIX-derived peptide, inhibits tumor angiogenesis through αvβ3 and α5β1 integrin interaction

open access: yesCell Adhesion & Migration, 2021
We previously demonstrated that F4 peptide (CNPEDCLYPVSHAHQR) from collagen XIX was able to inhibit melanoma cell migrationin vitro and cancer progression in a mouse melanoma model.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.
