Function as a Service (FaaS), a form of serverless computing, is one of the recent cloud computing service offerings, which abstracts and automates the management and provisioning of resources, and deployment of applications. It provides powerful abstractions to compose applications as stateless functions and triggers their executions through events ...

Performance Evaluation of Asynchronous FaaS
2021 IEEE 14th International Conference on Cloud Computing (CLOUD), 2021Function as a Service (FaaS) is a novel but dynamically emerging field of cloud computing. The majority of the leading cloud service providers have their own FaaS platforms, however, the open source community has embraced this technology, therefore an increasing number of FaaS alternatives can be deployed for on-premise use-cases.

IP spoofing weakens network security and accountability. Although a lot of techniques have been proposed to prevent IP spoofing, most of them are not implemented by device vendors, and the only available anti-spoofing tool in practice is ingress filtering [3].

Placing FaaS in the Fog, Securely. [PDF]
Placing FaaS applications onto Fog infrastructures is an open problem presenting various challenges. It requires considering hardware and software requirements of single functions as well as Quality of Service requirements of the overall application.

FaaS Orchestration of Parallel Workloads
Proceedings of the 5th International Workshop on Serverless Computing, 2019Function as a Service (FaaS) is based on a reactive programming model where functions are activated by triggers in response to cloud events (e.g., objects added to an object store). The inherent elasticity and the pay-per-use model of serverless functions make them very appropriate for embarrassingly parallel tasks like data preprocessing, or even the ...

In June 1995, the FAA developed a "total requirements" estimate for the period FY 97-FY 02 to help explain the difficulty of supporting a dynamic, growing aviation industry under a federal budget picture which projected flat or reduced funding for the agency. The FAA's estimate for the six-year period was $59.3B in budget outlays.
