Phylogeny of Amorpheae (Fabaceae: Papilionoideae) [PDF]

The legume tribe Amorpheae comprises eight genera and 240 species with variable floral form. In this study, we inferred a phylogeny for Amorpheae using DNA sequence data from the plastid trnK intron, including matK, and the nuclear ribosomal ITS1, 5.8S, and ITS2.

Lectotypification of two names in Indian Millettia (Fabaceae—Papilionoideae)

Two names in Indian Milletia (Fabaceae—Papilionoideae) namely, M. rubiginosa and M. splendens are lectotypified here as a part of the revisionary study of the tribe Millettieae in India. Original materials of both species were traced from BM, BR, CAL, E, K, M, MH, P and NY. Besides, the diversity of Millettia in India is briefly discussed.

Chemosystematic and evolutionary trends of the genistoid clade sensu stricto (Papilionoideae, Fabaceae)

The Papilionoideae, which comprises 503 genera and approximately 14,000 species, is the largest and most diverse subfamily of the Fabaceae family. In this subfamily, the Crotalarieae, Genisteae, Podalyrieae, Thermopsideae, Sophoreae and Euchresteae tribes are closely related by micro and macromolecular features, thus forming the genistoid clade.

Abstract The nectar sugar composition of several genera of the subfamily Papilionoideae (Fabaceae) have been analysed, including many southern African endemic genera of the tribes Crotalarieae, Podalyrieae and Liparieae. Nectar sugars were found to be conservative characters with limited taxonomic value.

Summary Development and structure of seeds in Vigna unguiculata W alp . and anatomy of mature seeds in Pueraria phasealaides B enth ., P. tuberasa DC. and Teramnus labialis S preng . have been studied. Mature seed coat consists of a layer of both macrosclereids and osteosclereids. This layer is underlain by 3 to 4 layers of parenchymatous cells.
