On profinite rigidity amongst free‐by‐cyclic groups I: The generic case

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 130, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract We prove that amongst the class of free‐by‐cyclic groups, Gromov hyperbolicity is an invariant of the profinite completion. We show that whenever G$G$ is a free‐by‐cyclic group with first Betti number equal to one, and H$H$ is a free‐by‐cyclic group which is profinitely isomorphic to G$G$, the ranks of the fibres and the characteristic ...

Dirichlet space of multiply connected domains with Weil-Petersson class boundaries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The restricted class of quasicircles sometimes called the "Weil-Petersson-class" has been a subject of interest in the last decade. In this paper we establish a Sokhotski-Plemelj jump formula for WP-class quasicircles, for boundary data in a certain ...

GABAergic modulation of beta power enhances motor adaptation in frontotemporal lobar degeneration

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract INTRODUCTION We examined how abnormal prefrontal neurophysiology and changes in gamma‐aminobutyric acid‐ergic (GABAergic) neurotransmission contribute to behavioral impairments in disorders associated with frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD). METHODS We recorded magnetoencephalography during an adaptive visuomotor task from 11 people with

Inclusion properties for bi-univalent functions of complex order defined by combining of Faber polynomial expansions and Fibonacci numbers

open access: yes, 2019
In this present investigation, we introduce the new class R of bi-univalent functions defined by using the Tremblay fractional derivative operator. Additionally, we use the Faber polynomial expansions and Fibonacci numbers to derive bounds for the general coefficient an of the bi-univalent function class.

Machine Learning Transition State Geometries and Applications in Reaction Property Prediction

open access: yesWIREs Computational Molecular Science, Volume 15, Issue 3, May/June 2025.
Machine learning offers a promising method for generating transition states, bypassing the need for costly quantum mechanical calculations and enabling rapid insights into chemical reaction mechanisms. Advancements in the field are discussed herein. ABSTRACT The calculation of transition state (TS) geometries is essential for understanding reaction ...

Time‐insensitive nonlocal parabolic Harnack estimates

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 130, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract We establish new Harnack estimates that defy the waiting‐time phenomenon for global solutions to nonlocal parabolic equations. Our technique allows us to consider general nonlocal operators with bounded measurable coefficients. Moreover, we show that a waiting‐time is required for the nonlocal parabolic Harnack inequality when local solutions ...

Data on Physical Properties of Sea Ice in the Northern Barents Sea and Adjacent Arctic Basin From the Nansen Legacy Project

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 12, Issue 2, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Recent decline of sea ice in the Barents Sea represents a clear manifestation of the ongoing Arctic warming. This study presents a compilation of data sets on sea ice physics acquired during 2018–2022 during Nansen Legacy—a Norwegian multidisciplinary national research programme that focused on the northern Barents Sea.

From protein structure to an optimized chromatographic capture step using multiscale modeling

open access: yesBiotechnology Progress, Volume 41, Issue 1, January/February 2025.
Abstract Optimizing a biopharmaceutical chromatographic purification process is currently the greatest challenge during process development. A lack of process understanding calls for extensive experimental efforts in pursuit of an optimal process. In silico techniques, such as mechanistic or data driven modeling, enhance the understanding, allowing ...

Computations of vector-valued Siegel modular forms

open access: yes, 2012
We carry out some computations of vector valued Siegel modular forms of degree two, weight (k,2) and level one. Our approach is based on Satoh's description of the module of vector-valued Siegel modular forms of weight (k, 2) and an explicit description ...
