Fabricating Superhydrophilic Wool Fabrics
Langmuir, 2009A simple method for fabricating environmentally stable superhydrophilic wool fabrics is reported here. An ultrathin silica layer coated on the wool altered both the surface roughness and the surface energy of the fiber and endowed the wool fabrics with excellent water absorption.

AbstractChemical and physical processes driven by multiphoton absorption make possible the fabrication of complex, 3D structures with feature sizes as small as 100 nm. Since its inception less than a decade ago, the field of multiphoton fabrication has progressed rapidly, and multiphoton techniques are now being used to create functional microdevices ...

Characterizing Fabric Pilling Due to Fabric-to-Fabric Abrasion
Textile Research Journal, 2001This paper describes a cylindrical lighting system and its applications for objectively assessing fabric pilling. This cylindrical lighting system allows easy isolation and measurement of pills by illuminating only the pills and suppressing the background.
