Atomically Resolved Electron Reflectivity at a Metal/Semiconductor Interface
An atomically flat interface is achieved in the incoherent Al/Ge heterostructure using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). Scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) reveals a laterally periodic modulation of electron reflectivity with atomic resolution at the commensurate Al/Ge interfacial lattice, originating from the local electronic states.

High-bandwidth transfer of phase stability through a fiber frequency comb
We demonstrate phase locking of a 729 nm diode laser to a 1542 nm master laser via an erbium-doped-fiber frequency comb, using a transfer-oscillator feedforward scheme which suppresses the effect of comb noise in an unprecedented 1.8 MHz bandwidth.

Abstract The study of silicate glasses is important to understand the physical and chemical properties of silicate melts under high‐pressure conditions relevant to planetary interiors. We conducted in situ Brillouin spectroscopy measurements on two endmember, low‐impurity CaSiO3 glasses and one Fe, Al, Mg, Ti‐bearing CaSiO3 glass up to 23 GPa.
