Symmetry broken vectorial Kerr frequency combs from Fabry-Pérot resonators

open access: yesCommunications Physics
Spontaneous symmetry breaking of a pair of vector temporal cavity solitons has been established as a paradigm to modulate optical frequency combs, and finds many applications in metrology, frequency standards, communications, and photonic devices.

Diffractively coupled Fabry-Perot resonator with power-recycling

open access: yes, 2011
We demonstrate the optical coupling of two cavities without light transmission through a substrate. Compared to a conventional coupling component, that is a partially transmissive mirror, an all-reflective coupler avoids light absorption in the substrate

Spatial and temporal filtering of a 10-W Nd:YAG laser with a Fabry-Perot ring-cavity premode cleaner [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We report on the use of a fixed-spacer Fabry–Perot ring cavity to filter spatially and temporally a 10-W laser-diode-pumped Nd:YAG master-oscillator power amplifier.

Transparent White OLED‐Based Brain Stimulation With Invisible Flicker and Photobiological Safety Evaluation

open access: yesJournal of the Society for Information Display, EarlyView.
A safe, transparent, invisible flickering transparent white OLED (TrWOLED) platform is developed for therapeutic 40 Hz brain stimulation. By utilizing chromatic modulation, this device delivers effective gamma frequency brain entrainment while eliminating visual fatigue.

Recent Advances in Photonic Bound States in the Continuum: From Fundamentals to Engineering and Implementation

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This review summarizes recent progress in meta‐photonics with a focus on bound states in the continuum (BICs) as a powerful platform for light confinement and control. It covers fundamental concepts, design strategies across optical regimes, symmetry breaking for practical quasi‐BICs, tunable and AI‐assisted BIC devices, and emerging applications in ...

Three Cavity Tunable MEMS Fabry Perot Interferometer

open access: yesSensors, 2007
In this paper a four-mirror tunable micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS)Fabry Perot Interferometer (FPI) concept is proposed with the mathematical model. Thespectral range of the proposed FPI lies in the infrared spectrum ranging from 2400 to 4018(nm).

Germanium‐Based Mid‐Infrared Integrated Photonics

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
The mid‐infrared (mid‐IR) spectral range is a part of the electromagnetic spectrum in which most of the molecules have vibrational and rotational resonances. Photonics integration in this wavelength range have thus seen a burst of interest in the recent years, mainly driven by applications related with the detection of chemical and biological ...

Rotman Lens-Fed Fabry-Perot Resonator Antennas for Generating Converged Multi-Mode OAM Beams

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, we present a Rotman lens-fed Fabry-Perot resonator antennas (FPRA) for generating multi-mode OAM beams with low beam divergence. The Rotman lens works as a beamforming network in the FPRA for the multi-mode OAM operation, significantly ...

Birefringence of interferential mirrors at normal incidence Experimental and computational study

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we present a review of the existing data on interferential mirror birefringence. We also report new measurements of two sets of mirrors that confirm that mirror phase retardation per reflection decreases when mirror reflectivity increases ...

Highly Versatile Real‐Time Optical Noise Filtering Through Temporal Cloaking

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Conventional bandpass filtering strategies may be insufficient for recovering optical waveforms under extremely noisy conditions. We demonstrate a temporal‐cloaking denoising strategy enabled by the temporal Talbot effect, which concentrates the coherent signal of interest into short temporal slots while broadband noise remains temporally spread.
