Cavity QED in microsphere and Fabry-Perot cavities

A long-standing ambition in the field of cavity quantum electrodynamics has been to trap single atoms inside high-Q cavities in a regime of strong coupling. Our goal has been to develop techniques for trapping that are compatible with strong coupling and that do not interfere with the cavity QED interactions.

So far the working principle of the Advanced Virgo detector has been presented, as well as a detailed overview of its different subsystems. This chapter will give a detailed description of the Advanced Virgo Fabry-Perot arm cavities, introducing the basic concepts needed to understand the challenges of their commissioning.

Double-cavity electrooptic Fabry-Perot tunable filter

The experimental development of an infrared multiple-cavity electrooptically tuned Fabry-Perot filter using LiNbO(3) is described. This filter, designed for operation in the 3-5-microm spectral band, was demonstrated by angle scanning using a He-Ne laser at 3.39 microm.

In-fiber chirped Fabry–Perot cavity for temperature sensing

Optics Letters
Measurement resolution and dynamic range of conventional optical fiber sensors are often mutually restricted. In this work, an in-fiber chirped Fabry–Perot cavity (interferometer) is proposed, for the first time to our knowledge, to resolve the conflict between the resolution and dynamic range.
