Efficient Face Alignment Network For Masked Face

2021 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo Workshops (ICMEW), 2021
The sudden outbreak and global spread of the COVID-19 have severely disrupted normal life of everyone. Masks have become an effective way to suppress the transmission of the COVID-19. The widespread use of masks has brought sever challenges to many face-based algorithms, which would severely damage the accuracy of model.

MobileFAN: Transferring deep hidden representation for face alignment

open access: yesPattern Recognition, 2020
Facial landmark detection is a crucial prerequisite for many face analysis applications. Deep learning-based methods currently dominate the approach of addressing the facial landmark detection.

Face Alignment Refinement

2015 IEEE Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision, 2015
Achieving sub-pixel accuracy with face alignment algorithms is a difficult task given the diversity of appearance in real world facial profiles. To capture variations in perspective, occlusion, and illumination with adequate precision, current face alignment approaches rely on detecting facial landmarks and iteratively adjusting deformable models that ...

The GIST of aligning faces

2016 23rd International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR), 2016
We propose a novel supervised initialization scheme for cascaded face alignment by searching nearest neighbors based on global image descriptors. Unlike existing schemes which resort to additional large training data sets for learning features, our method does not require additional training steps; thus making our method low computational. Moreover, we

Unconstrained Face Alignment Without Face Detection

2017 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshops (CVPRW), 2017
This paper introduces our submission to the 2nd Facial Landmark Localisation Competition. We present a deep architecture to directly detect facial landmarks without using face detection as an initialization. The architecture consists of two stages, a Basic Landmark Prediction Stage and a Whole Landmark Regression Stage.

Improving alignment of faces for recognition

2011 IEEE International Symposium on Robotic and Sensors Environments (ROSE), 2011
Face recognition systems for uncontrolled environments often work through an alignment, feature extraction, and recognition pipeline. Effective alignment of faces is thus crucial as can be an entry point in the process and poor alignments can greatly affect recognition performance.

Discriminative Face Alignment

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2009
This paper proposes a discriminative framework for efficiently aligning images. Although conventional Active Appearance Models (AAMs)-based approaches have achieved some success, they suffer from the generalization problem, i.e., how to align any image with a generic model.
