Roughness modeling in up-face milling
The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2005In this study, we aimed to optimize cutting parameters to minimize surface roughness in up-face milling. An experimental system method has been used to analyze the evolution of surface roughness in connection with cutting parameters, and to develop mathematical models for roughness and optimal cutting parameter calculation.

Predicting cutting forces in face milling
International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, 1994Abstract It is shown how orthogonal machining theory can be applied to predict the cutting forces in face milling from a knowledge of the work material properties and cutting conditions. Predicted and experimental results are compared.

3-Dimensional kinematics simulation of face milling
Measurement, 2012Abstract Face milling is currently the most effective and productive manufacturing method for roughing and finishing large surfaces of metallic parts. Milling data, such as surface topomorphy, surface roughness, non-deformed chip dimensions, cutting force components and dynamic cutting behavior, are very helpful, especially if they can be accurately ...
