Face Tracking with Occlusion

2009 International Conference on Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation, 2009
The Camshift algorithm fails to track face easily while it is occluded, so a new face tracking method is proposed in this paper. This method combines the Camshift algorithm and the GM(1,1) model with optimized background values. By using moving vector information, this method can effectively track face even occluded by other static objects. The GM(1,1)

Face tracking for model‐based coding and face animation

International Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology, 2003
AbstractWe present a face and facial feature tracking system able to extract animation parameters describing the motion and articulation of a human face in real‐time on consumer hardware. The system is based on a statistical model of face appearance and a search algorithm for adapting the model to an image.

REALIZING FACE-TO-FACE INTERACTION BY VIEW-BASED TRACKING

International Journal of Information Technology & Decision Making, 2002
In this paper, we propose a method of realizing face-to-face interaction by view-based tracking between a human and a mobile robot. Although individuals can be recognized easily by observing frontal faces, it is difficult to do it from profiles of face.

Face tracking with a probabilistic Viola and Jones face detector

IECON 2019 - 45th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2019
This work proposes a new method for face and mouth tracking using video cameras. This method has been proposed to be used in intelligent spaces as an initial stage to provide information to higher level applications. The method incorporates the classifiers of the Viola and Jones detection method, modified to provide a probabilistic output previously ...

Automatic face tracking and identity verification

2007 14th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2007
The main objective of this work is to automate face tracking and verify the identity of the person. In fact the most pure algorithms of tracking has two major problems, namely the initialization problem and the lost track problem. To avoid these problems. The initialization is done by real time face detector.

Probabilistic Detection and Tracking of Faces in Video

2005
In this note it is discussed how face detection and tracking in video can be achieved relying on a detection-tracking loop. Such integrated approach is appealing with respect either to robustness and computational efficiency.

Learning a face model for tracking and recognition

IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speech and Signal Processing, 2002
This paper describes a system for learning a face model that is used for 3D tracking of the human face. The face is modeled as a linear combination of shape basis vectors and action vectors. Shape space models the difference in face shape of different people while action space models the facial expressions.

Robust face tracking using color

Proceedings Fourth IEEE International Conference on Automatic Face and Gesture Recognition (Cat. No. PR00580), 2002
We discuss a new robust tracking technique applied to histograms of intensity-normalized color. This technique supports a video codec based on orthonormal basis coding. Orthonormal basis coding can be very efficient when the images to be coded have been normalized in size and position.

Hands and face tracking for VR applications

Computers & Graphics, 2005
In this paper, we present a robust real-time 3D tracking system of human hands and face. This system can be used as a perceptual interface for virtual reality activities in a workbench environment. The main advantage of our system is that the human, placed in front of the virtual reality device, does not need any type of marker or special suit.

Robust multi-view face tracking

2005 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2005
For face tracking in a video sequence, various face tracking algorithms have been proposed. However, most of them have a difficulty in finding the initial position and size of a face automatically. In this paper, we present a fast and robust method for fully automatic multi-view face detection and tracking.
