This study sought to assess the relationship between facial gingival and bone dimensions in maxillary anterior teeth region using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT).This study assessed 621 maxillary anterior teeth in 144 patients. In the sagittal plane, facial bone thickness (BT) and gingival thickness (GT) were measured at the crestal level and at 2,

Biotypic classification of facial profiles using discrete cosine transforms on lateral radiographs
Archives of Oral Biology, 2021The aim of the study was to use discrete cosine transforms to graph soft tissue curves in lateral cephalometric radiographs and, with the obtained mathematical values, to group these curves by both traditional biotypes and cluster systems, in order to evaluate discriminatory capacity in terms of accuracy.A sample of 625 lateral radiographs of adult ...

Correlation Between Maxillary Canine Impaction and Facial Biotype
Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, 2019Aim: The etiology of teeth impaction is still not fully understood, despite that cofactors have been considered important to develop such a clinical picture. The aim of the authors’ paper was to investigate about facial biotype, about the values of inclination of the upper cuspid axis to the perpendicular to Frankfort ...

Proximity of the roots of posterior teeth to the maxillary sinus in different facial biotypes
American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 2018Orthodontists consider facial growth pattern and oral function when developing a treatment plan. Less attention is given to the relationship between the maxillary posterior teeth and the maxillary sinus. We aimed to evaluate the relationship between the roots of the maxillary posterior teeth and the floor of the maxillary sinus.Proximity of the roots ...

Influence of Biotype on Facial Gingiva Margin Movement on Single Implant Restorations
Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2007eminence. The CRU scaffolds and controls were then harvested en-bloc maintaining the relationship of articular disc and eminence, and micro-CT scanned to evaluate new bone formation. Condylectomy segments harvested at the time of surgery were also imaged using micro-CT and bone volume quantification was executed.

AbstractPurposeGingival esthetics are an essential segment of facial beauty. The aim of the present study was to clinically assess the impact of periodontal biotype (PB), the length between the base of interproximal contact area and the interproximal bone crest (CP‐BC), the distance between the facial and palatal papillae (DFPP), and papillary ...

[Evaluation of lateral norms of facial biotype in a group of young patients with hypodontia].
Stomatologia mediterranea : SM, 1990In a group of 620 patients prevalence of tooth agenesis correlated to jaw relationship was studied. Skeletal patterns of the patients with the tooth agenesis were diagnosed by means of lateral cephalograms according to Ricketts, Jarabak, Riedel and Cagliari School analysis.
