Recognition of facial expressions during step-function stroboscopic presentation
We studied the perception of human facial emotional expressions during step-function stroboscopic presentation of changing mimics. Consecutive stages of each of the six basic facial expressions were pre sented to the participants: neutral face

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Generalizable Facial Expression Recognition
SOTA facial expression recognition (FER) methods fail on test sets that have domain gaps with the train set. Recent domain adaptation FER methods need to acquire labeled or unlabeled samples of target domains to fine-tune the FER model, which might be infeasible in real-world deployment.

Expression Recognition by Using Facial and Vocal Expressions [PDF]
Human behaviour may be monitored by analysing facial expressions and vocal expressions. Hence an automatic technique which combines both these features will give a more accurate overall estimation of expression. In this work we propose a new method which is uses facial and vocal features to estimate the expression of the subject. Facial expressions are

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Use of 3D faces facilitates facial expression recognition in children
This study assessed whether presenting 3D face stimuli could facilitate children’s facial expression recognition. Seventy-one children aged between 3 and 6 participated in the study. Their task was to judge whether a face presented in each trial showed a

The Effect of the Ensemble Average of Facial Expressions on Subsequent Facial Expression Recognition [PDF]
AbstractAn ensemble or statistical summary can be extracted from facial expressions presented in different spatial locations simultaneously. However, how such complicated objects are represented in the mind is not clear. It is known that the aftereffect of facial expressions, in which prolonged viewing of facial expressions biases the perception of ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
