Pathologic examination in a case of facial myokymia showed edema and mild astroglial proliferation of the ipsilateral seventh nerve nucleus; gliomatous tumor involvement occurred rostral to this nucleus. These findings give circumstantial support to functional deafferentation as the cause of facial myokymia.

Simultaneous Facial Feature Tracking and Facial Expression Recognition
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2013The tracking and recognition of facial activities from images or videos have attracted great attention in computer vision field. Facial activities are characterized by three levels. First, in the bottom level, facial feature points around each facial component, i.e., eyebrow, mouth, etc., capture the detailed face shape information.

NAME AND FACIAL FEATURE STEREOTYPING
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 197325 names and faces which had been previously scaled with respect to perceived degree of masculinity-femininity were presented to 28 Ss whose task was to match the name which seemed most appropriate to each of the photographs. The results indicated that Ss associated names with faces which had similar connotations.

Suspect identification by facial features
Ergonomics, 2004Often during criminal investigations, witnesses must examine photographs of known offenders, colloquially called 'mug shots'. As witnesses view increasing numbers of mug shots that are presented in an arbitrary order, they become more likely to identify the wrong suspect.

Facial feature detection: A facial symmetry approach
2017 5th International Symposium on Computational and Business Intelligence (ISCBI), 2017Nowadays face detection plays an important role in recognition, emotion recognition, computer-human interaction, etc. This paper presents a novel method for the detection of facial features in images. The main objective is to develop a fully automatic facial feature detection system.

An algorithm for the automatic features detection in 2D color images of human faces is presented. It first identifies the eyes by means of a template matching technique, a neural network classifier, and a distance measure. It proceeds localizing lips and nose using a non-linear edge detector and color information. The method is scale-independent, works

Facial Features in Perceived Intensity of Schematic Facial Expressions
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 2010Facial expressions may be perceived continuously or categorically, i.e., perception of facial expressions may be explained by feature-based models or holistic models. A linear additive model is proposed, with weightings for facial features to reflect configural spatial relationships or distances of features from each other.

Facial Age Estimation Using Compact Facial Features
2020Facial age estimation studies have shown that the type of features used for face representation significantly impact the accuracy of age estimates. This work proposes a novel method of representing the face with compact facial features derived from extracted raw image pixels and Local Binary Patterns (LBP) for age estimation.
