A comparative Study of Automatic Facial Landmark Detection [PDF]

open access: yes
Facial signs are associated with people’s health and general fitness. Among different facial signs, the facial landmark is one of the essential appearances of facial characters, which can be linked with people’s emotions, state of consciousness and ...

3D craniofacial reconstruction framework using elastic surface deformation based on automatic landmark positioning

open access: yesIET Image Processing, 2023
Computer‐aided craniofacial reconstruction (CFR) is a process that aims to estimate facial impressions based on skull remains. It mimics the conventional method with a conceptual model‐based framework.

Semi-supervised facial landmark annotation [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Vision and Image Understanding, 2012
Highlights? A semi-supervised least-squares-based congealing algorithm is proposed. ? A statistical shape model learned online is integrated into congealing. ? We develop a system to automatically estimate the landmark set for an image ensemble. Landmark annotation for training images is essential for many learning tasks in computer vision, such as ...

A Brain‐Wide Atlas of Astrocytic Oxytocin Receptors Reveals a Glial Basis for Nucleus Accumbens Modulation of Affiliative Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The cellular actors of oxytocin signaling are under intense scrutiny. A brain‐wide anatomical and functional analysis in mice and rats reveals widespread expression of oxytocin receptors in astrocytes. These receptors are functionally active and, in the nucleus accumbens, selectively regulate male social affiliation.

The Heat is On: Thermal Facial Landmark Tracking

open access: yesCoRR, 2023
Facial landmark tracking for thermal images requires tracking certain important regions of subjects' faces, using images from thermal images, which omit lighting and shading, but show the temperatures of their subjects. The fluctuations of heat in particular places reflect physiological changes like bloodflow and perspiration, which can be used to ...

Engineering Approaches to Modify Immunomodulatory Functions of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs): Tissue Regeneration and Clinical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,

FACEDIG automated tool for placing landmarks on facial portraits for geometric morphometrics users

open access: yesScientific Reports
Landmark digitization is essential in geometric morphometrics. It enables the quantification of biological shapes, such as facial structures. Traditional landmarking, which identifies specific anatomical points, can be complemented by semilandmarks when ...
