Mechanical Properties of Different Austenitic High‐Nitrogen Steel Grades Produced by Powder Mixtures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The effect of nitrogen content on the mechanical properties of austenitic stainless steels is investigated using tailored powder metallurgical processing. Different PM routes, including additive manufacturing, enable controlled nitrogen uptake and complex geometries.

Microstructural Evolution and Mechanical Properties of a Medium‐Manganese Steel Manufactured by Laser‐Based Powder Bed Fusion of Metals

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Fe–12Mn–0.2C medium‐manganese steel is processed by laser‐based powder bed fusion of metals using blended as well as pre‐alloyed powder. Various scanning speeds are used to determine the influence of energy deposition rate on microstructure and mechanical properties.

Efficient and Scalable Radiative Cooling for Photovoltaics Using Solution‐Processable and Solar‐Transparent Mesoporous Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Graded refractive index (GRI) structures are prepared from the layer‐by‐layer spray coating of the mesoporous SiO2 nanoparticles, showing high solar transparency and thermal emissivity. Under outdoor conditions, after 50 days, the GRI‐coated photovoltaics show on average 6.65 ± 1.48 °C lower than that of the non‐coated references, maintaining 80.9 ± 8 ...

Imaging of facial nerve schwannomas: diagnostic pearls and potential pitfalls

open access: yesDiagnostic and Interventional Radiology, 2016
Schwannomas are uncommon in the facial nerve and account for less than 1% of tumors of temporal bone. They can involve one or more than one segment of the facial nerve.

A forgotten facial nerve tumour: granular cell tumour of the parotid and its implications for treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We present a rare case of a facial nerve granular cell tumour in the right parotid gland, in a 10-year-old boy. A parotid or neurogenic tumour was suspected, based on magnetic resonance imaging.

Joule‐Assisted Nanotherapeutic Urethral Stent (JANUS) for Spatiotemporal Theragenerative Treatment of Urethral Strictures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Joule‐assisted nanotherapeutic urethral stent harnesses a smart, biodegradable magnesium stent to orchestrate spatiotemporal theragenerative therapy for urethral strictures. Magnetically induced Joule heating enables on‐demand drug release and bacterial ablation, while simultaneously guiding urothelial regeneration.
